South Burnett Relay For Life breaks $100k

THE South Burnett Relay for Life teams have broken the $100,000 mark this year.

This time last year the South Burnett had raised about $60,000 but this the teams have already banked $100,000.

South Burnett Relay for Life president Rowena Dionysuis said she couldn't be more pleased.

"This year's teams are legends," she said.

"I'm totally blown away by their efforts.

"It's just amazing what the community has offered in the way of monetary donations.

"The support is amazing and we couldn't do it without them."

Mrs Dionysuis said the weekend's event generally raises a further $20,000.

"We will break our record," she said.

"We set our goal this year at the $100k mark and we are going to smash it."

The 18-hour relay will kick off from 2pm on Saturday at the Kingaroy Showgrounds.
