South Burnett teams vying for President's Cup

FOOTBALL: South Burnett teams will play for the first bragging rights of the season with the Football South Burnett President's Cup on the line this weekend.

In the women's competition it will be a replay of the 2018 grand final when Nanango and Barambah meet in Kingaroy at 3pm on Saturday.

The Bears will be looking for the same result, while the Panthers will be aiming for a win and to reclaim their title as the team to beat in the South Burnett.

The teams are both coming off strong wins from the weekend.

The Panthers defeated Gunnettes 1-0 in Nanango, while the Bears stopped the Wests from scoring in their three-goal win in Kingaroy.

In the men's competition, the Panthers will meet the Gunners at 5pm.

The Gunners will be looking to make up for last year's President's Cup result when they were defeated by Wests.

They will go into the game on their home turf full of confidence coming off a two-goal win over the Panthers in Nanango on Saturday, when the home team was unable to get on the scoreboard.

The Panthers will be looking to prove they are contenders for season spoils this year.

The action at Kingaroy's Tom Alford Oval on Saturday kicks off with the women at 3pm and men at 5pm.
