Staff lock gates to pool as armed boy makes threats

UPDATE 2.20PM: The situation has been resolved. 


BREAKING 1.54PM: STAFF at the World War II Memorial Pool have reportedly locked the gates to prevent an armed boy with autism from entering. 

Initial reports suggest police are responding to the south side swimming pool following reports a 12-year-old boy, armed with an iron bar, was threatening people. 

The boy is reportedly in the car park of the pool and has tried to climb the fence and gain entry.
