STAY SAFE: Five bushfires burning in Burnett

QUEENSLAND Fire and Emergency Services crews are currently responding to four bushfires throughout the region.

Residents are advised to keep up to date with safety warnings and decide how they will respond if situations change.

A large bushfire broke out this afternoon, August 19, in Cooyar, where 22 crews are on scene.

Crews are also responding to a bushfire in Charlestown, near Wooroolin.

A total of 21 crews are still responding to a bushfire in Teelah, near Blackbutt, which broke out yesterday, August 18.

The bushfire which threatened Kingaroy properties on Curtis Rd, Kingaroy, continues to burn and crews are monitoring the situation.

Further north, six crews are on scene at a fire in Binjour, on the Burnett Highway.

Vegetation fires have also been reported in East Nanango, and Wilkesdale.
