Storm leaves shed smashed as family cleans up

A CLOYNA family is trying to comprehend the damage as they pick through the leaves, branches and debris to clean up after the big storm.

Susanne Pick said their property endured a lot of hail and really strong winds in the storm yesterday.

"We went out and it looked like it had snowed,” she said.

The massive hay shed was destroyed, with posts several feet under the ground now lying on the grass.

"We didn't even hear the shed move, that's how loud it was,” she said.

"It's more or less on the back of where it was.”

Parts of the shed are now lying on the boundary fence, and the family is going through to see what parts they can salvage.

"We have to go through later and see what's damaged,” Mrs Pick said.

Hail and parts of the shed smashed through the tractor window, and the recently installed solar hot water system received several dints from the hail.

Mrs Pick's oldest daughter lives in a caravan, and one of the windows was smashed, destroying several birthday gifts and photos.

The family were surprised to see some things not damaged, with their cars only protected by an awning shade cloth, which only had a couple of holes in the cloth itself.
