Storm star pleads guilty, free to play Warriors

MELBOURNE Storm centre Cheyse Blair is free to play against New Zealand Warriors on Friday night after pleading guilty to a dangerous tackle charge.

Blair attracted a 25 per cent discount for the early plea which offset the loading he carried into the season.

"It's 90 points so no point going to fight it and then if I lose I'll be out for a week," Blair said.

Blair was pinged for lifting Bulldogs five-eighth Josh Reynolds in the 69th minute of the match.

A dangerous throw charge carries 100 points - the equivalent of a one-match ban.

Blair said containing the Warriors power-packed offence poses another "big test" for Storm after last Friday night's 12-6 win and second-half shut-out in miserable Belmore conditions.

"They (coaches) give us one job and that's make your tackles," Blair said.

"It's pretty much get off the line and get at them pretty much, get in their faces."

Storm will be forced to make at least one change this week with Kiwi international Jesse Bromwich sidelined with a serious finger injury.

Bromwich will be assessed today after badly dislocating his finger in the opening minutes of the Round 1 clash.

Young gun Ryley Jacks is expected to retain five-eighth for at least another week before Storm coach Craig Bellamy spins the magnets to make way for fullback Billy Slater's long-awaited return.
