Cameron Smith, Billy Slater post personal milestones
STORM stars Cameron Smith and Billy Slater set aside their State of Origin disappointment to post personal milestones in yesterday's 46-20 hammering of Parramatta in Melbourne.
Slater's two first-half tries took his tally past former Canterbury great Terry Lamb and equal with Cronulla's Andrew Ettingshausen on 165.
They sit third on the all-time list behind legendary North Sydney and Manly winger Ken Irvine on 212, and another Manly great, Steve Menzies, on 180.
Not to be outdone, Smith moved past former Rooster Craig Fitzgibbon as the game's all-time leading forward goal kicker.
Melbourne led 18-0 after Slater's brace, before Parramatta hit back with tries to Ryan Morgan and winger Semi Radradra who grabbed his 14th of the season just before half-time following a sensational 25m cut-out pass from Corey Norman.
Any chance the Eels had of launching a comeback was squandered when livewire halfback Chris Sandow was sent to the sin bin in the second half for comments directed at the match referees. Melbourne scored three tries while he was off the field.
Storm rookie Kurt Mann, 21, showed why he is the player to eventually take over from Slater with two tries in another outstanding game.
