Students celebrated at Inclusivity Awards
KINGAROY State High School held its annual Inclusivity Awards ceremony on Wednesday and also celebrated the graduation of four Year 12 students.
The school’s Inclusion Program deputy Helen Beresford said she was proud of her students’ efforts throughout the year.
“Today was about the children with additional needs finishing school and we had this event so they could celebrate with their peers and families,” she said.
“We wanted to acknowledge students who are anxious about getting awards at awards night by handing them out in front of a much smaller and more familiar crowd.”
This year’s special guest speaker was Leigh Islaub, who has an award named after her.
