Students try out different careers for a day

Murgon State High School Traineeship and job placement officer Carmen Liedke shares how their work experience program was a big success:

The 2019 Murgon State High School Work Experience Program has been a great success.

In June, 46 Year 10 students participated in the program, undertaking on-the-job work sampling in fields that interested them as possible career paths.

Our students were placed with businesses and organisations large and small across the South Burnett and beyond.

Feedback from these businesses and organisations has been overwhelmingly positive, commenting that our students were polite, well presented and willing to engage in the tasks given.

The program this year has been effective with student's having a better understanding of the workplace and their goals for their future careers.

A number of employment and training opportunities were presented to our students based on their performance and attitude during their work experience placement.
