Sunny start to the school holidays
AS STUDENTS around the region start their school holidays this weekend, the weather forecast looks promising.
Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Jess Gardner said there weren't drastic changes predicted for Kingaroy, just a slight increase in temperature.
Ms Gardner said the South Burnett missed most of the rainfall that occurred across the state in the past week.
"It is looking like there is not much rainfall, only a tiny chance that 10 to 20 per cent of people will see a shower this weekend,” Ms Gardner said.
"Temperatures will be fairly steady, remaining in the low 20s and warming ever so slightly.”
Ms Gardner said Friday would have a top of 20 degrees, Saturday 21 and Sunday 22.
The minimum temperatures at night are also expected to drop late next week, heading into the middle of winter.
For people planning to travel to the coast this weekend, a hazardous surf warning is expected for Sunday, Monday and possibly Tuesday.
