Take a stand to raise awareness at breakfast

KINGAROY police will be joining forces to take a stand to raise awareness of violence against women.

They will hold a breakfast outside the Kingaroy police station from 7.30am to 9.30am on Friday, November 23.

Kingaroy Senior Sergeant David Tierney said there needed to be a change in the way women were treated.

"It's time to draw a line in the sand, and start making a cultural change,” he said.

"The silent majority of men need to stop being silent or excusing this behaviour, as does everyone that condones it through their silence.”

There will be white ribbons on sale at the event for a $1, with all proceeds going to White Ribbon Australia.

Snr Sgt Tierney said people should be there at the start to get the $2.50 bacon and egg muffins, before they run out.

There will also be free tea and coffee available at the breakfast.
