Team dedicated to hunting for 'next big thing' in technology

AFTER 10 years of success, the team at Harvey Norman Computers knows how to keep customers interested.

Store proprietor Brendan Young said the team made an extra effort to have the latest and greatest products available to customers.

"We quite often go on conferences and shop online, where we'll see the new things we want to bring to the store,” Mr Young said.

"We'll then make sure to advertise them online and in the paper to show off what we have.

"We have to be on top of the game with what's out there and what's going to be the next big thing, so that we can help provide that to the customers.”

According to Mr Young, this drive to be up to date with latest technology was no easy job.

"It's tough, and it takes more than a nine-to-five job, but we wouldn't be here if we didn't love it,” he said.

"Our whole team has that drive too. They're all very passionate, and that's what it comes down to.”

Mr Young said his team was filled with people who enjoyed using their stock outside of work hours.

"As members of the computers section, we also sell a lot of computers and gaming devices,” he said.

"Probably 90 per cent of our team are all into gaming too. It's a great hobby for our team to have, because we can show our customers our own personal knowledge of our products.

"Their passion for those products can help the customers when they're deciding what they want to purchase.”

The team's passion doesn't stop with computers and gaming, either.

"We also have team members that are really enthusiastic about cameras, so everyone is really passionate about the things they sell,” he said.

"Our team won't just think 'I need to say these things to get a sale'. They will give their genuine advice and opinions.

"A customer won't want to hear any suggestions in a sale if the salesman also doesn't have that knowledge of the product.”

Harvey Norman Kingaroy is approaching its 10th birthday and will hold a 10-day sale from April-15 to celebrate.

Head to the store, meet the passionate staff and grab some great deals.
