Teen yells abuse at police officer while hooning

SCOTT Thomas Glennon must show cause why he should keep his license.

The 18-year-old was caught by an off duty police officer hooning and driving without due care and attention his new ute, which wasn't fitted with the right P plates.

He overtook the officer on the Bruce Hwy while speeding on August 3 near St Lawrence.

He also overtook another vehicle on double white lines. After the officer made himself known to Glennon at a nearby service station, the teen hooned off and yelled abuse back at the off duty cop through an open window and extended his middle finger toward him.

Glennon pleaded guilty in the Mackay Magistrates Court today. The matter was adjourned to November so he could complete a defensive driving course.
