10:45AM: INVESTIGATIONS are continuing into an alleged stabbing that occurred last night on a Kin Kora street.
Queensland Police said a man was observed driving erratically on Magnolia Avenue around 10.30pm, according to preliminary investigations.
He then stopped in the street and attempted to enter a residence, which started a disturbance between the man and a woman at that address.
The man sustained injuries after breaking a glass door panel, according to police, after which three neighbours attempted to restrain him.
One of those neighbours, the 56-year-old man taken to Gladstone Hospital last night, was allegedly stabbed in the back during the altercation, and also received lacerations to his arm from a knife.
Investigations are continuing and no charges have yet been laid.
7:10AM: A 56-YEAR-OLD man was taken to Gladstone Hospital last night with lacerations to his back and forearm after what the Queensland Ambulance Service described as an "alleged incident" at Kin Kora.
Paramedics were called to a private residence on Magnolia Ave at about 10.56pm and transported the man to hospital in a serious but stable condition soon afterwards.
A police spokeswoman said two men were involved in an altercation on the street outside the 56-year-old's house before the alleged wounding occurred.
A 19-year-old man is currently in police custody in relation to the incident and is "assisting police with their inquiries", according to the spokeswoman.
She said the 19-year-old, also a resident of Kin Kora, was found by police sitting in a car after the incident while "heavily under the influence of something".
"We need to speak to him when he's in a fit state to be spoken to," she said.
Police are also expected to interview the victim later today.
