Over $17,000 given in community grants
The South Burnett Regional Council has confirmed $17,100 in community assistance grants to 14 community groups and organisations.
The Blackbutt State School received $500 for anger management resource and the Queensland Dairy and Heritage Museum got $400 for their Heritage Working Day.
Both the Murgon and Kingaroy Men's Sheds received $1500 each while the Nanango Men's Shed got $1000 to buy new tools.
Murgon Bowls Club was given $2000 for a new disabled toilet and the Kumbia Hall Committee got $600 for a grant writing skills workshop.
There was $600 for the White Dove Ball and $500 for the Nanango's 23rd Annual Stamp Fair.
Kingaroy Kindergarten received $800 for an awareness program while the Wondai regional Art Gallery got $2800 for the Wondai Country Fun Run Festival.
The Wesleyan Methodist Church received $3000 for the Nanango Community Christmas Carols Party and the Butts Arts Gallery got $795 to buy new computers.
Finally the Wondai Cricket Club got $1035 to buy a new mower and safety gear.
In all the Council received 23 applications asking for total of $49,320.19.
