Thief pinches fuel, gets caught with drugs

A WOMAN who stole more than $65 worth of fuel has been ordered to pay the fuel station back.

Melissa Anne Mason pleaded guilty to the stealing charge and six other charges in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 29.

Police prosecutor Pepe Gangemi said she had stolen fuel from Rykes Fuel service station in Kingaroy on May 18.

Mason also pleaded guilty to possessing a knife, a gold pipe suspected of being used with drugs and 0.2 grams of marijuana at 9.30pm on January 1 along Brisbane St, Nanango.

The 28-year-old woman was also caught with a gram of marijuana at 11.15pm on January 10 on First Avenue, Kingaroy.

The court heard she failed to appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on April 29.

Defence lawyer Chris Campbell said this all occurred after a long-term relationship broke down.

Magistrate Louisa Pink said Mason was before the courts with no criminal history.

Mason was fined $200 for failing to appear, $200 for stealing and $400 for drug offences.

Convictions were not recorded.
