POLL RESULTS: Tight race for South Burnett mayoral spot

AS THE South Burnett Regional Council election draws near, poll results from four candidate forums have revealed it could be a tight race to the mayor's office.

Attendees at the forums have given current deputy mayor Keith Campbell the edge over his four rivals, but the margin is slim.

Cr Campbell received 29.8% of the vote from 198 people who attended the events in Nanango, Blackbutt, Kingaroy and Murgon.

Trailing close behind is current Division 3 councillor Damien Tessmann with 24.24%.

Sheena Lindholm and Mike Brown also received just above 20% of the vote.

According to the poll results from Nanango and Blackbutt, publican Gavin Jones could be the next Division 2 councillor.

Mr Jones received 70% of the vote from 57 voters at the events.

In Division 3, Danita Potter received 40% of the vote from 47 Kingaroy forum attendees.

She is followed by Debbie Dennien on 27.66%.

Roz Frohloff, Terry Fleischfresser and Ros Heit led the forum poll in Division 1, Division 4 and Division 6 respectively.
