TOOWOOMBA teenager Oliver Bridgeman has been filmed in the ruins of Aleppo just minutes after a Russian air-strike.

Mr Bridgeman, who was schooled in Harristown, now works with charity group Live Updates from Syria.

His move to Syria last year amidst the civil war sparked suspicion that he was joining in the fighting, but he has denied that.

The teenager has since appeared in numerous videos promoting the group, many of which show him delivering aid.

Recently he was filmed narrowly avoiding Russian bombs while visiting the town of Latakia with well-known Muslim activist Tauqir "Tox" Sharif.

On Thursday the Muslim convert was interviewed about a bombing near a school and amid the ruins of what is thought to be the city of Aleppo.

Fighting began there in 2012 and has since devolved into a war of attrition between rebel groups and the Syrian government.

"We know for a fact that Russians have been targeting hospitals and schools," Mr Bridgeman said.

Shown walking through the rubble of concrete and iron sheeting, he described the situation.

"It (the bombing) happened at about 12.30pm so obviously people were still at school.

"Alhamd lillah (thanks be to Allah) it just hit our side. You can see a lot of destruction."
