TOWN PROUD: Bill Hull drives dollars to local organisations

JACQUI Trace from Bill Hull Car Centre anticipates about $30,000 will be donated to South Burnett charities and community groups through the store's Local Dollar Drives.

For each new or used car sold the dealership will donate $100 to a organisation of the customer's choice.

"We've been running it since July and we had quite a few organisations pick up from it last quarter,” Mrs Trace said.

They include the Kingaroy Red Ants, Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels, Scouts, South Burnett Pantry, LifeFlight and the RSPCA.

Mrs Trace said she started the initiate in response to the high volume of organisations that solicit donations.

Having the customers choose where the money goes has the dual effect of spreading the money equitably and unearthing lesser-known groups.

"We wanted to do something different where the customer has some say in where their money goes,” Mrs Trace said.

"It's hard to sponsor everything and this way it keeps the money in the community and it's open to any local club or charity.”
