Woman airlifted after highway crash

UPDATE: A WOMAN was airlifted to Brisbane following a collision west of Yarraman at about 1.30pm this afternoon. 

Forensic Crash Unit investigator Sean Relf said it looks like the injured female driver veered into on-coming traffic on the D'Aguilar Highway.   

"A south-east bound Subaru Forester, with a single female occupant, has crossed to the incorrect side of the road and collided with a north-west bound ute towing a trailer," Sgt Relf said.   

"The collision has ripped the trailer from the utility."   

The female driver suffered injuries to her leg, pelvis and arm while the occupants of the utility were uninjured.    

The QPS Forensic Crash Unit is still investigating the full cause of the crash.   

2PM: THERE are reports of a traffic crash on the D'Aguilar Highway to the west of Yarraman.

Paramedics have only just arrived on scene.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said it is unknown if there are any injuies at this time.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
