Traffic delays expected as works begin

SOUTH Burnett Regional Council has programmed the installation of a new concrete footpath in Alford St and Mant St in Kingaroy.

Work will start on the southern side of Alford St at the new culverts and proceed down to the Mant St intersection from November 12.

Once this stage is completed, the new footpath will extend down the eastern side of Mant St to the Kingaroy State High School gate.

Work will include excavation, placing of concrete, the installation of pram ramps and signage.

The work is expected to be finished by December this year, weather permitting.

In order to provide a safe work environment, the footpath and parking lane in the immediate work area will be closed with minor disruptions anticipated.

Through traffic will be controlled by signage or traffic control with some minor delays expected.

There may be restrictions for nearby residents to their properties, however when accesses are to be affected owners will be notified in advance by the onsite supervisor.

Residents with concerns during the construction period are asked to contact the onsite supervisor or contact the council customer service centre on 4189 9100.
