Creditors left empty-handed as company goes bust

A TOOWOOMBA company is about to be dissolved by its liquidator after going broke in 2015.

Toowoomba Bulk Transport (Qld) Pty Ltd went into liquidation in July 2015 and a final meeting of creditors is due to take place on March 10 this year.

The dissolution will take place at City Side Serviced Offices in Melbourne, Victoria at 9.45am.

Liquidator Raymond Sutcliffe said it was unfortunate, but no dividends were available to creditors.

While the company had been based in Toowoomba, Mr Sutcliffe said there was nothing under the Corporations Act that limited the jurisdiction regarding the appointment of a liquidator.

"I was requested to act as liquidator and there was nothing which I was aware of that prevented me from acting," he said.

"Everything is now finalised."

The agenda of the meeting is to receive an account showing how the winding up of the company has been conducted and how the property of the company has been disposed of.

The liquidator will also give any necessary explanation of the account received by the meeting.

Records show the company had been registered for the Goods & Services Tax since February 2014.
