Trouble brews as drunk teen gets aggro over refusal

AN ALCOHOL-fuelled night out at the Coast could barely be recalled by North Deep Creek teenager William Thomas Mancini in Gympie Magistrates Court Monday.

Mancini, 19, appeared charged with being disorderly at a licensed venue in Mooloolaba on November 21 last year.

The court heard Mancini was on the Coast enjoying a penthouse owned by a friend of a friend and got intoxicated.

At 11.30pm, he was refused entry to Your Place Expresso Bar due to his level of intoxication and inadequate clothing.

Mancini was reluctant to leave and was spoken to by the manager when he became aggressive, attempting to throw punches both at the manager and venue staff.

A passing police patrol unit was waved down and Mancini fled the scene.

Police located the defendant a short time later sitting alone on the beach and Mancini attempted to run again only this time to be caught by police.

Mancini pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $220, referred to SPER, with no conviction recorded.
