House-carrying truck closes tunnel
THE Tugun tunnel was closed after an oversized truck carrying a house tried to enter the tunnel this afternoon.
The truck tried to enter the tunnel on the Pacific Motorway at Tweed Heads West at about 4pm, forcing it to momentarily close.
Traffic was diverted along the Gold Coast Highway and debris has reduced some lanes southbound.
The oversized truck is no longer blocking lanes but motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and use the Gold Coast Highway as an alternative route.
