AUSTRALIAN Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has cancelled tomorrow's visit to the Garden City.

He was scheduled to attend a community breakfast hosted by the Toowoomba Clubhouse in support of the Vanguard Laundry project.

This was to be followed by a sod-turning event for the Toowoomba Range bypass.

The breakfast will still take place from 6.30-8.30am with Deputy Prime Minister Warren Truss and Member for Groom Ian Macfarlane in attendance.

Mr Truss is expected to make a major announcement.

Toowoomba Clubhouse executive director Luke Terry said he hoped people still turned up to the breakfast.

"Malcolm called me and he said, "Look, I just can't make it, but there'll be a major announcement with Warren and Ian still," he said.

"He was supportive of the work we are doing and I hope people come and hear what Ian and Warren have to say."

This comes after Mr Turnbull also cancelled last night's sod-turning dinner at the Empire Theatre.

A refund is available from the Empire Theatre Box Office for anyone who does not wish to attend the breakfast.
