Two airlifted after separate accidents overnight

THE RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter responded to back-to-back missions overnight after two patients were injured in separate accidents in the North Burnett region.

A teenage boy sustained a suspected spinal injury during a game of rugby on Saturday.

The Bundaberg RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked on a hospital transfer to airlift the injured boy at 5.20pm yesterday.

The crew flew to Gayndah Hospital to retrieve the patient, before transferring him to Bundaberg Base Hospital for further tests.

He travelled in a stable condition.
