Two men remain at large after Casino assault

TWO women have been arrested while two men remain at large after a serious assault of a man and woman in Casino last night.

About 5.20pm on Friday, a 39-year-old woman and two men, aged 44 and 59, were sitting outside a home on William Street when two women walked past the front of the property.

The women, aged 26 and 43, allegedly started to yell at the people outside the house threatening them. They then left and returned a short time later with two men.

A scuffle ensued and the 39-year-old woman and 59-year-old man were allegedly punched and kicked by the 26-year-old woman and the two men with her.

The older man received a cut and bruising to his face and the 39-year-old woman received grazes and bruising.

The two women were arrested by police and taken to Casino Police Station.

The younger woman was refused bail and will appear in Lismore Local Court on Monday charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, affray and common assault.

The older woman was charged with common assault, intimidation and affray. She was given conditional bail to appear at Casino Local Court on Wednesday 7 January 2015.

Investigations into the assaults are continuing and police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information that may be of assistance.

The two men were described as being of Aboriginal  appearance, aged in their 20s, with one wearing a white singlet top.
