Women accused of violent home invasion front courts
ONE of two women charged in relation to an alleged violent home invasion in East Toowoomba has had her matters adjourned to the New Year.
Joy Teresa Urbani, 44, of Russell Island, had been held in custody since her arrest for the incident at a Bruce St unit about 9am, Saturday, October 11, in which police claim a woman was restrained with gaffer tape and her home searched.
The alleged victim was shaken but unharmed.
Urbani was not in Cleveland Magistrates Court yesterday when charges against her including deprivation of liberty, robbery in company with violence and entering a dwelling with intent were mentioned.
A second woman, aged 29, was arrested last week on similar charges arising from the same incident.
She is due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on January 21.
Urbani's matters were adjourned back to the Cleveland court in January.
