TWO Gympie women appeared in Gympie Magistrates Court yesterday on unrelated stealing charges.
Christina McIntyre, 40, of Gympie pleaded guilty to stealing two jackets from Myer at Sunshine Plaza, Maroochydore on July 28, last year.
McIntyre was with her partner when the pair exited the store carrying the two items, which set door sensor alarms off.
McIntyre said she had left the store at a separate time to her partner and was unaware he had not paid for the items.
The jackets were worth a total of $458 and CCTV footage revealed the duo made no attempt to pay for the items.
In an unrelated incident earlier this year, Rachel Joy Roberts, 38, pleaded guilty to unauthorised dealing with shop goods when she exited Drake's Supa IGA with a number of unpaid items on February 16.
Roberts walked through an unattended check out without paying for $64.15 worth of fresh produce, pastries, dairy products and ice cream.
When Roberts was questioned by the store's manager she returned the items, telling the court she had 11 people staying at her house that week and had taken the items to feed her friend's lactose-free daughter.
Roberts was fined $250, was ordered to pay restitution of $64.15 and had a conviction recorded against her.
McIntyre was fined $550, ordered to pay $229.50 in restitution and had a suspended sentence extended by one month.
