Unemployment rate higher than state and national rate
ACCORDING to new data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the region including the South Burnett has an unemployment rate higher than both the state and national rate.
The ABS has just released new unemployment data as per their July 2019 Labour Force data set.
Nation wide Australia has been holding a steady unemployment rate of just 5.2 per cent.
Queensland has the lowest unemployment rate of all main land Australian states at 6.3 per cent. Tasmania is sitting at 6.7 per cent.
The South Burnett falls in the Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast region of Queensland, and has a combined unemployment rate of 6.5 per cent.
Considering the South Burnett unemployment rate was at 7.8 per cent as per the latest Small Area Labour Markets data, it would seem the Sunshine Coast region has brought the areas overall unemployment rate down.
Yet despite this, it is still considerably higher than the national and state employment rates.
