A FAMILY in Wyreema had an unwelcome visitor recently.

Renowned snake catcher David Wiedman was called out to catch an eastern brown.

The deadly snake had invited itself to the home and was "tapping on the front door trying to get in".

"It was scared into the garage where we caught it in a corner behind a drum set," Mr Wiedman said.

"It was a fast and relatively easy catch thanks to the owners keeping a constant eye on it until we got there."

The homeowner told Mr Wiedman the snake was trying to get into the front door.

Mr Wiedman said on hot days the snakes often sought shelter in sheds.
