UPDATED guide to the QLD Winter Craft Festival

THE Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery is hosting its annual Queensland Winter Craft Festival and this is the last week of the June exhibitions and workshops.

For June, the two exhibitions are: Farm to Fashion by Alpaca Collective in the main gallery and Not Your Granny's Mats by Judi Tompkins in galleries two and three.

In the art gallery corridor you will find Textile Art Wall-Hangings by Bec Andersen.

Here is a breakdown of what is on this week:

Monday, June 24

The Alpaca Collective (exhibiting artist group) will be hosting a spinning and weaving demonstration at the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery. Come along to learn how to spin and weave alpaca fleece. This will run from 10am to 12noon.

Tuesday, June 25 to Friday, June 28

There are no planned workshops. However, it would be the perfect time to drop by and check out the June exhibitions. This is the last week they will be on display in the lead up to the second half of the Winter Craft Festival.

Saturday, June 29

The gallery will be hosting a Weaving with Weed Vines Workshop. This will be held in the 1913 Council Chambers and must be booked through the Kingaroy Art Gallery. The workshop costs $30 per person and will run from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

Sunday, June 30

There will be a Hand Made Sketch Books and Journals Workshop run through the gallery and festival. Bookings are essential, and the workshop costs $25 per person. This workshop will also be running in the 1913 Council Chambers. The day will start at 10am and run until 2pm.

To book into a workshop or for more information call the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery on 41899323.
