Vandals damage Nanango murals

MURALS have been vandalised at the murals in Pioneer Park.

The murals  were winners in the Nanango Art Society's 2014 Mural Art Competition.

Nanango Art Society treasurer Dany Moorhead said the damage happened last week.

Ms Moorhead said three of the murals had been damaged, with one deliberately kicked in.

"The artists who participated in our mural competition worked long and hard to create these works of art for the community and it's so disappointing to see that someone would choose to leave their footprint of vandalism," Ms Moorhead said.

"Someone deliberately kicked in (the mural)."   Ms Moorhead said the art society was looking for a generous person in the community to help them repair the damage.

"First year (of the competition) we had a tractor or something ran into the front of one as well and dinted it all and some fella from the council came and fixed it all up for us so hopefully this time we might get some help because we don't know how to go about it," she said.

If you think you can help the Art Society repair the murals, phone Dany Moorhead on 0448043414.
