Victorian minnow has Greek great in corner for final

IT may be the rank underdog but Victorian club Heidelberg United will go into tonight's FFA Cup quarter-final against Melbourne City confident it can pull off a major upset.

That's because of the inclusion of one man - former Greek captain Kostas Katsouranis (pictured).

The 36-year-old - who led his country to last year's World Cup finals in Brazil - has signed a one-game deal with the National Premier League side, although Heidelberg coach George Katsakis said he hoped that could be reconsidered if the team was able to win.

Katsakis admitted Katsouranis, who hasn't played since scoring two goals for Greek first division club Atrimos in June, was short of top fitness, but said his experience and talent would help offset that.

The other game will see Western Sydney travel to Perth to take on a Glory side that includes former Wanderers keeper Ante Covic.
