TWO guys decide to go for a walk.

That is the simple premise behind the Wander Victoria tourism campaign that attempts to show off the state beyond its famous capital.

The plan is to encourage Melburnians to venture away from the major centres and take themselves out to the regions.

The first advertisement begins with two couples walking out of a lunch at the Montalo Vineyard.

The two gents say 'I might walk back' to their wives and off they go.

They travel past the Gibsons steps, over Lake Crosbie, to the top of Flat Rock and up the side of Razorback Ridge.

The campaign chooses beautiful landscapes to show off regional Victoria.

Minister for Tourism and Major Events, John Eren said it was important to encourage the urban-dwelling Melburnians to leave the concrete jungle.

"We want to remind Melburnians that there are a wealth of truly magical experiences right on their doorstep," he said.

"There's something for everyone and the best of everything."

"Tourism is the key to keeping our regions strong, and we know the intrastate market is crucial."
