Wattlegrove quarry to increase extraction rates

AN EXISTING quarry in Wattlegrove will increase its current extraction rates after approval from the South Burnett Regional Council.

The quarry at 1304 Wattlegrove Rd and Half Mile Creek Rd will increase its current extraction rates from less than 5000 tonnes per year to 100,000 tonnes per year.

The decision was approved by the council during the meeting on Wednesday, March 20, after the application was submitted on January 31, 2019.

The quarry will operate the extraction, crushing, screening, loading, operation of plant equipment and ancillary activities.

Haulage will be limited to Monday-Friday between the hours of 6am to 6pm, and it will also be open from 9am-1pm on Saturdays.

The approved haulage route for the quarry is from the quarry entrance along Wattlegrove Rd to Minmore Rd, to Deep Creek Rd to River Rd and to the Bunya Highway.
