WEATHER WATCH: Thunderstorms, 30-40mm dump expected

THUNDERSTORMS have been predicted to hit the South Burnett as of tomorrow morning.

Weatherzone meteorologist Graham Brittian said there was a high chance of stormy weather in Kingaroy on Friday, and tipped it to continue into Saturday.

"They will begin late Friday morning - looks like the rain could be quite heavy, we're looking at about 30mm to 40mm," Mr Brittian said.

"Saturday early morning and afternoon, the storms are a continued risk.

"There will be less rainfall than Friday, we're looking at 10mm to 20mm."

Mr Brittian said the trough responsible for the thunderstorms would shift east late Saturday afternoon, and he predicted a dry Saturday evening.

"With all of these clouds and rain about it will be cooler though," he said.

"On Friday and Saturday we're looking at high temperatures of 22 to 24 degrees.

"That's about four to six degrees below average for this time of year."
