What the South Burnett will look like in 2041
PEOPLE over the age of 65 will make up the largest percentage of the South Burnett population in 2041.
The number is expected to grow from 7266 people in 2016 to 11,367, an increase of nine per cent.
These numbers are according to the Queensland Government's projected population report based on data from the Australian Bureau of Statics.
The over 65 demographic will be the largest in the region surpassing people aged 45-64 years old who currently make up the largest percentage of the population at 27 per cent.
The number of people in the 45-64 age bracket will increase by 123 people but the overall percentage will decrease by three per cent.
According to the data there will be less young people living in the South Burnett in 23 years time.
In 2041 there will be 288 less people under the age of 25 living in the region.
One in three people in the region will be over 65-years-old while one in six will be under 14-years-old.
In total, the data predicts there will be 4360 more people living in the region.
