FAMILY and festive fun is on offer at Proston on Saturday night.

Organiser Helen Young said the Proston Christmas Carnival was an occasion for the whole community.

The carnival is on Saturday, December 16, at Railway Park in Proston, starting at 5pm and going to about 9pm.

Santa will arrive at 7pm and entertainment for children is free, including a jumping castle and merry-go-round.

A workshop to learn how to make your own kite will be offered for a small cost, the child keeping the kite they have made.

Free ice creams for children will be given out at the carnival.

Plenty of food stalls will be running, including those of the Goomeri Lions Club and Proston CWA for tea, coffee and Christmas goodies, and the Proston Show Society will have a barbecue running.

"The weather forecast looks like it's going to be a very nice evening for the whole family to enjoy,” MsYoung said.

"It's a small community event that everyone gets involved in, and it's always a lovely evening for the whole family.”
