Where to celebrate Seniors Week in Nanango

SENIORS Week is a time to celebrate the contribution of the South Burnett community's elders, and highlight the services available to them.

The Nanango RSL is inviting seniors to enjoy a free game of bingo and light lunch on Tuesday, August 20 at 10am.

Nanango RSL Sub-Branch member Noel Fischer said the week-long celebration fit in with the purpose of the sub-branch, which was to provide for the sick, helpless, wounded, aged, vulnerable, destitute and needy among those that were serving or who had served the country's defence forces.

"The sub-branch has been looking for ways for us all to get together and celebrate our community,” Mr Fischer said.

"We see Seniors Week as an important week on our calendar to support our seniors, and we are proud to be partnering with organisations such as the Queensland Government and COTA who aim to advance the rights, interests and futures of Australians as we age.

"We are pleased to be welcoming seniors from groups such as Legacy, Karinya and Yarraman Nursing Home. There are some spots left, but bookings are essential.”

Twenty-five games of bingo will be drawn, giving participants the chance to win Nanango RSL Club prizes.

There will also be lucky door entry prizes up for grabs.

To book for the free event, phone Nanango RSL on 4163 1375.
