Grand final: Whose house rules?
THE House Rules grand final might seem like a southern affair, but there's a Queenslander in the mix.
Melbourne's Lisa Lamond and Adam Dovile are facing off against Perth's Carole and Russell Bramston in tomorrow's final showdown.
Lamond was born and raised in Brisbane and still regularly visits her family there and on the Sunshine Coast.
"My auntie and uncle live at Mooloolaba and my Nan's in Buderim," Lamond told APN.
"I was up there pretty much every weekend growing up. The Sunny Coast means a lot to me."
The 29-year-old HR manager hopes Queensland will get behind her and her fiancé as they go up against the show's long-time frontrunners.
"Carole and Russell have got experience on their side," she said.
"(People from) WA are really parochial and they really back their own, so we're definitely up against it.
"We're petrified actually… we're trying to hang on to hope."
While Dovile and Lamond were one of the lowest-scoring teams at the beginning of the show, they have caught up to their more experienced counterparts.
"I always had faith in my ability to pick things up pretty quickly, but that faith did waver quite a lot in the beginning," she said.
If the young couple wins, then the $540,000 mortgage on their newly renovated Bulleen home will be wiped clean.
The winner will be determined by a public vote and the judges' scores on the final renovation of a secret room.
The grand final airs tomorrow at 6.30pm on Channel 7.
