WINNERS: Murgon claims victory 30 years on
RUGBY LEAGUE: After a nail biting game the Murgon Mustangs were declared the winners of the South Burnett A-Grade Rugby League grand final for 2019.
At half time Murgon were in the lead over Cherbourg, 12 - 8, and managed to put away a few more tries, claiming victory with a final score of 28 -14.

Their win was made even more special as it had been 30 years since the local team had won the final at their home ground.
Murgon Mustangs captain Michael Giles was thrilled to come away with the win and credited the whole community as being a moving force behind the squad.

"We are such a close knit-team,” Giles said.
"Everybody is included at the club including partners, kids and our sponsors.
"It feels so good to win today at Murgon and we will be celebrating until Monday,” he said.
