Winter Boutique Markets hits Moffatdale
AFTER two successful events, the Mofftatdale Boutique Markets will be flourishing for its third time this coming weekend.
Held on this Sunday, June 30 from 8am to 2pm at the Yallakool Park on Bjelke-Petersen Dam, the artisan markets will be showcasing and supporting over 40 local businesses in the area.
The Winter in the Country Market will also provide a range of activities and entertainment for the whole family.
Event organiser Felicity Aitken, is extremely pleased by how well the markets have been received in the community.
"I had come across so many local artists and stall holders and I wanted to create a space to showcase what they were doing,” Ms Aiken said.
"It really excites me to see how much talent there is in the community.”
"In the country we are so influenced by the seasons and we wanted to reflect that in the markets and create a theme or feel for each of them,” she said.
The seasonal markets are planned to run four times a year, with the next one being held in October for spring and the summer market will be run in early December.
Originally Aitken hosted the first market at her place Raukawa Cottage last December, but as it grew substantially they moved the location to Yallakool to cater for the increased number of vendors.
There are limited Eftpos facilities available on the day and Free parking will be available on site.
