Woman to face court after armed robbery at bottle store

UPDATE: Detectives have charged a 21-year-old woman following the alleged armed robbery of a bottle shop on Smiths Road in Goodna yesterday afternoon.

It will be alleged at around 4:15pm a woman entered the business armed with a knife, threatening a male shop assistant before leaving the premises with a quantity of alcohol and a sum of cash.

Police commenced patrols of the area and located the woman nearby a short time later.

The male shop assistant was not physically injured during the incident.

A 21-year-old woman from Redbank has been charged with one count of armed robbery and is due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court today.

EARLIER: A young woman has been arrested in relation to an armed robbery at a liquor store in Goodna.

It was reported that a woman, believed to have been in her teens, entered a BWS armed with a knife and stole a bottle of vodka.

The theft took place about 4.13pm today.

The woman was dressed in a peach-coloured jumper with black leggings and was carrying a leopard print backpack.

Police were called to the scene and arrested a Caucasian woman matching the description in Stuart St, shortly after the robbery.

No one was injured.
