Woman grabbed, assaulted

POLICE are searching for a man who assaulted a 22-year-old woman in a residential Nanango street.

An unknown man grabbed and threatened woman as she walked down Normanby St between 8-9pm on Saturday.

Nanango Police Sergeant Jason Newton said when the woman fought back against the man he punched her in the head.

She then managed to break free from her attacker and run away to seek help from a nearby resident.

The offender was described as 178cm tall, of scrawny build with a husky voice, wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants and white-soled shoes.

Sgt Newton is urging witness to the attack or anyone who could help find the man to contact Nanango Police on 4163 1211 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000.
