X-Men: Days of Future Past already dominates box office
AFTER only a week of showing in Australia, not only is the latest X-Men film dominating the box office, but fans are growing fervent about a looming sequel.
Since its premiere on Thursday, Xmen: Days of Future Past has pulled in $8.5 million at the box office on its opening weekend- besting key rival Godzilla's $2.44 million.
While the hype is still building about the time-travelling mutant adventure, X-Men writer and producer Simon Kinberg is already dropping hints about X-Men: Apocalypse.
Eagle-eyed watchers were treated to a brief teaser for what could be called X-Men 6 after the credits stopped rolling on Future Past.
Kinberg has told US magazine The Daily Beast, he wants to keep the same cast for the next film.
"It will focus primarily on the First Class cast, but it will certainly have some of the original cast involved, too," Kinberg said.
He also sent the hearts of comic book tragics all a-flutter by saying it would be "awesome" if Wolverine could one day take on Iron Man alter-ego Tony Stark.
X-Men: Apocalypse is expected to be released in 2016.
