Yacht belonging to missing Hervey Bay man located in NSW

A YACHT belonging to a man reported missing while sailing south from Hervey Bay in November has been located off the New South Wales coast.

Eero Tiitinen was not onboard the 8.2m vessel when it was discovered approximately 177 nautical miles east of Coffs Harbour in international waters this morning.

He was last seen by family on November 17 and had planned to travel from Hervey Bay to Moreton Island but failed to arrive.

Investigations into his disappearance are ongoing in conjunction with external agencies.

Water Police is making plans to recover the vessel and will prepare a report for the coroner.
