Yarraman Carnival postponed due to rain

RAIN has postponed the Yarraman Christmas Carnival until the New Year.

The carnival was scheduled for tomorrow in Errol Munt Sports Reserve in Yarraman.

Organiser Joe Stimpson said the state of the oval reserve wasn't suitable for the carnival.

"It's just too wet to get the machinery (for rides) on to the grounds," he said.

But he decided to reschedule the event for the first of January rather than cancel the event.

"It was the only time I could rebook the rides, everyone else has got everything booked before Christmas," he said.

He said he hoped kids and families wanting a bit more Christmas fun will come to the Christmas/New Year's Carnival.

It's the second Christmas carnival to be postponed, with the Murgon Christmas Fair being moved to Monday night due to rain.
