Young student meets an acting hero

YEAR 3 St John's Lutheran School student Kyden Hutton is a big fan of actor Travis Fimmel.

He became enamoured of the actor while watching Vikings, a History Channel television series in which Fimmel plays semi-mythical Scandanavian King Ragnar Lothbrok.

"I like him because he fights a lot,” Kyden said.

The boy was one of the hundreds of fans who met Fimmel while he toured Wooroolin as part of the contingent filming Danger Close.

"He's nice and he smiles a lot,” Kyden said.

The pair discussed the ins-and-outs of the theatrical profession.

It seems Fimmel caught wind of Kyden's ambitions and saw a rival in the making.

"He said, 'no don't be an actor', he said it was hard work,” Kyden said.

But Kydenwas unfazed, having already performed in his school's annual Sunday Night Life production as a shepherd.

"It celebrates how we change grades and how we get older,” he said.
