Young swimmers in safe hands with veteran trainers returning
AFTER a long winter hiatus the Kingaroy Aquatic Centre is set to re-open its doors this Saturday at 6am.
Mother and son pair Donna and Joe Dangerfield were handed the South Burnett Regional Council contract to run the pool last week.
This makes it their sixth year running classes and manning the canteen.
The squad and swim fit class will start in the second week of the school holidays.
The toddlers' learn to swim classes will run on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings with an afternoon class running every Friday.
The mini's squad session will Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
The junior and intermediate squad sessions will run from Monday through to Thursday in the afternoons while the seniors will train Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings with afternoon sessions Monday through to Thursday.
The weekly swim club, along with their weekly races, will continue on a Thursday evening.
For anyone looking for a some more care-free exercise, adult swim fit classes will run on Mondays and Fridays starting on October 7 and water aerobics will run twice a week.
Anyone looking to learn to swim will be in safe hands with the Dangerfields. Joe competed at the national level with a raft of golds in the 100m, 200m and 400m freestyle and only narrowly missed out on a spot in the 2012 London Olympic team.
